ISS announced today the rebranding and new release of ISS QualityScore - formerly known as ISS Governance QuickScore - concurrent with the opening of the data verification period for covered companies. As noted in Society member and Davis Polk Partner Ning Chiu's post, the data verification period is open today through November 11th. Her post notes that the QuickScore/QualityScore data is also used by ISS in formulating its research reports that investors obtain to make voting decisions, and that all requested changes must be accompanied by a publicly disclosed source. More information on the data verification process is available here.

As for the rebranding, ISS's release shares this information:

As part of the release, the QualityScore methodology will be enhanced to provide users with deeper actionable insights, particularly in the areas of board composition and shareholder rights at U.S. companies. Effective November 21, subscribers to ISS QualityScore will be able to view granular details regarding proxy access provisions, such as ownership thresholds, holding periods, and certain restrictions on the number of shareholder nominees and the ability to act in concert. Increased coverage of board composition issues, such as additional refreshment and diversity measures, will also be added for the U.S. market.
