SEC Acting Chair Piwowar Directs Reconsideration of Pay Ratio Rule Implementation

Further to my earlier post: SEC Acting Chair Piwowar Moves on Administration's Agenda and on the heels of last week's move on conflict minerals, SEC Acting Chair Piwowar issued this statement today announcing that: (i) he is seeking comments on any "unexpected challenges that issuers have experienced as they prepare for compliance" with the pay ratio rule and "whether relief is needed," and (ii) he has directed the staff to reconsider the rule's implementation based on any comments submitted and "to determine as promptly as possible whether additional guidance or relief may be appropriate." He is seeking submittal of detailed comments within the next 45 days.
