member-get-a-member: The Sequel

Game On! Refer New Members to become Eligible for Prizes

Member referral has always been a successful approach for attracting new members to the Society, and we are happy to report that Society membership is growing. To continue the momentum (and to have a bit of fun,) we are re-introducing the Member-Get-A-Member program with prize incentives for individuals, companies and chapters.

Under the new program, members will have their own unique link, accessed via the profile page, to send to a colleague (new or former member). When that prospect clicks on the link, they will be taken to an online membership form. Once they join using that form, at a discounted rate of $625, the member, company, and chapter will each be given credit for the referral. In addition, the member will be sent an email informing them that a prospect has joined. And members will be able to see the total prospects he/she has recruited on their profile page.

A word-of-mouth recommendation is the most effective means of recruitment for membership associations. Each time you invite a colleague to join the Society, you strengthen our organization. A vital and growing membership means greater recognition of the profession, enhanced educational and networking opportunities, plus vibrant chapters.

Stay tuned for the official campaign roll-out, including the list of prizes, coming soon! Member-Get-A-Member winners will be recognized at next year's National Conference in Washington DC.

Essentials Express & Eastern New England Chapter Meeting

Registration is now open for Essentials Express and Eastern New England Chapter Conference taking place at the Westin Copley Plaza on October 31 - November 1.

For newbies, Essentials Express is a one and a half day program taught by fellow corporate secretaries and governance professionals. And even though the program is a condensed version of the three-day Essentials program held in January, there is a plethora of valuable information for new and experienced attendees.

Here are the top 5 reasons for attending Essentials Express:

  1. You will get the FUNDAMENTALS you need to divide and conquer the responsibilities of your role (including valuable materials to take back to the office).
  2. Knock out those CLE credits before year-end.
  3. The Eastern New England Chapter will host a chapter conference following Essentials Express which will DIVE DEEPER into timely governance topics i.e., 2 days of fundamentals and hot topics.
  4. Society events are the only events where you do not have to explain to someone exactly what you "do". NETWORK and COLLABORATE with folks who do what you do on a daily basis and learn about the latest products and services geared for your unique role.
  5. Pre-conference INVESTOR FORUM: On Monday, October 30, there will be an opportunity for issuer members to meet with investors in small group round-table sessions.

We look forward to seeing you in Boston!
