​​Cybersecurity is a critical issue that cannot be overlooked, which is why it is facing increased scrutiny in boardroom conversations. Cyber-breaches, cyber-attacks, cyber-assessments, and cyber-incidents impact shareholder value and are a serious threat to corporate brand reputation and trust. Organizations must be aware of how to mitigate and respond to cybersecurity threats both proactively and through corporate & board policy. Our esteemed panel will separate fact from hype and examine key aspects of what board members need to understand about cybercrime and cybersecurity, including highlighting various examples of security breaches and their negative impact on organizations. Finally, we will include specific details essential to a comprehensive cybersecurity board presentation.

Across multiple IT security domains, Kevin has a unique skillset that combines the big picture with technical understanding and industry insight. Lavonne Hopkins, Associate, Baker Hostetler, LLP

A pragmatic advocate, Lavonne stays abreast of the ever-changing technology landscape and the cybersecurity and data privacy issues her clients face. Prior to joining Baker Hostetler, Lavonne was a technology transactions and data privacy and cybersecurity attorney in the Houston office of Vinson & Elkins, LLP. Lavonne received her law degree from the University of Houston and engineering degrees from The Johns Hopkins University and Howard University. Matt Hartzell, Board Member, Allegiance Bancshares; Chief Administrative Officer at Smith & Associates

Matt joined Smith as General Counsel in 1998 and served as COO from 2008 to 2014. Before joining Smith, Matt was a shareholder with Hirsch and Westheimer, P.C.
