Rivel will present research from institutional investors and corporate issuers, providing insight into the perceptions and expectations of sustainability and board diversity.  Discussion will focus on the impact of these headline topics upon voting and valuation decisions and the internal dynamics driving this rapidly evolving discussion.  What are the most important elements of sustainability and diversity as viewed by investors? How do investors gain insight upon these issues? How does it impact board credibility?  How will 2018 voting policies reflect evolving investor attitudes and what actions should you be thinking about for your engagement, disclosure and vulnerability assessment?  
 
Topic 2: Activism
 
How have activists evolved and developed new strategies in attempting to engage companies on sustainability, board diversity and governance-related issues?  How do you engage with index investors and proxy advisory firms to inform and effectively respond to investor and public scrutiny regarding these matters?  What is the role of independent directors?
