The SEC Noticed an open meeting for Wednesday, December 5th at 10 am ET to, among other things, consider whether to issue a Request for Comment on the nature and content of quarterly earnings releases and reporting. As previously reported, in August, President Trump tweeted that he had directed the SEC to study moving to a semi-annual financial reporting scheme for public companies in lieu of quarterly reporting, triggering this Statement from SEC Chair Clayton.
