Benchmarking Workforce Disclosure

Institutional investor coalition ShareAction released the "Workforce Disclosure Initiative (WDI) Report on 2018 Company Disclosures." The report analyzes 2018 disclosures from 90 companies worldwide that responded to the WDI survey on topics such as workforce diversity, wages, and health & safety, and provides related recommendations for companies, investors, stock exchanges, policy makers, community organizations and NGOs. 64% of the 2018 disclosures were made privately in connection with the WDI survey; the balance were public.

The workforce governance-related questions garnered the highest respondent completion rate, although ShareAction notes that providing disclosure - even extensive disclosure - doesn't equate to the quality of the responses (i.e., quantity vs. quality), which purportedly varied significantly.

Participating companies, the summary of findings, full findings infographics, and recommendations may be accessed here. See ShareAction's release
