Spencer Stuart’s report on its inaugural survey of S&P MidCap 400 Index companies includes informative benchmarking data for this infrequently surveyed group from their most recent proxy statements filed between June 1, 2019 and June 1, 2020. The report includes data on board composition, new director attributes (including diversity), CEO profiles, board leadership structure, board meeting frequency, board committee structure and organization, and director refreshment policies, as well as comparisons with the S&P 500. A convenient feature at the bottom of the online version allows the user to generate the MidCap data as compared to S&P 500 data by selected topic, as illustrated here:
