Of the 62% of proxy statements Semler Brossy reviewed that were filed in December 2020 and January 2021, more than half included detailed HCM disclosure for the first time. The statistics are based on the firm's analysis of 53 proxy statements filed during this period for companies with market caps >$3 billion that filed their Form 10-K after the new Reg. S-K human capital resources Form 10-K disclosure requirements became effective (November 9, 2020).
Disclosure approaches (e.g., content, length, location, scope) varied widely, with DE&I being the most prevalent topic addressed, as shown here:
