Workers Weigh In on Vaccine Policies, Remote Work

An online survey of more than 2,000 adults (1,149 employed and 571 currently working from home due to COVID-19) conducted in mid-February by The Harris Poll on behalf of Glassdoor revealed these key takeaways for employers:

  • Remote work: Nearly 90% say they would prefer to continue working from home at least part of the time after offices reopen, and 17% would consider quitting their job if they were required to return to the office full time.
  • Vaccine Policies/Practices: 70% agree that employees should be required to get a COVID-19 vaccine to return to the office, and about ¾ intend to get a COVID-19 vaccine when they can. Nearly 70% believe their employers should offer employees financial incentives (e.g., cash bonus, paid time off) to get the vaccine and would be more inclined to get the vaccine if so incentivized.

As previously reported (see our reports here and here), mandating employees get a vaccine is not the norm, and incentives are generally encouraged by human resources experts.
