JUST Capital reported on how the largest 100 US companies are disclosing policies, practices, initiatives, and data across the six dimensions captured by its corporate racial equity tracker launched in 2021 (we reported on here): (i) Anti-Discrimination Policies; (ii) Pay Equity; (iii) Racial/Ethnic Diversity Data; (iv) Education and Training Programs; (v) Response to Mass Incarceration; and (vi) Community Investments.
Based on JUST Capital’s review of companies’ websites, press releases, sustainability reports, DE&I reports, and SEC filings, nearly all companies (98%) are disclosing anti-discrimination polices and racial/ethnic diversity data; 91% are disclosing education and training programs; 51% are disclosing information on community investments; and less than half are disclosing mass incarceration policies and information on pay equity analyses.
Disclosure by metric across each of the six dimensions is shown here:
The complimentary Corporate Racial Equity Tracker database is searchable by company, industry, and number of employees, and includes links to the original data sources (e.g., sustainability and DE&I reports, press releases, proxy statements, website disclosures). Companies can use the database to identify examples of policies or practices they may wish to consider tailoring to their organization to advance racial equity within and outside of their organizations.
