80% of the S&P 500 disclosed data through the CDP last year, according to the CDP’s new “TCFD Insights Series” report. Of those, just 14% (56 companies) provided information on all of the CDP climate change questionnaire’s 25 TCFD alignment-related questions.
More generally, disclosure prevalence and TCFD alignment varied significantly by key indicator and TCFD pillar , with, for example, 93% of board climate oversight disclosures (of the 97% providing data on this indicator) aligned with the TCFD recommendations, compared to 30% TCFD-alignment across the three Strategy pillar indicators based on varying response levels, as shown on page 3 of the report.
The report presents the CDP’s analysis of disclosures relative to the TCFD recommendations and disclosure concerning the financial impacts of climate-related risks and opportunities.
