Deloitte’s publication: “Artificial Intelligence: An Emerging Oversight Responsibility for Audit Committees?” discusses the potential role of the audit committee in generative AI as the technology matures over time. The piece provides a thoughtful discussion of risks associated with generative AI that differentiate it from other types of risks managed internally and commonly overseen by the board or relevant board committee, which may render this particular risk less adaptable to existing risk management and oversight frameworks.  

A framework for assessing AI risk” from
MIT Sloan describes a “red light, yellow light, green light” framework companies may consider to help determine whether a particular use of AI should be prohibited, considered, or permitted based on the inherent risks. The article sets forth a list of precautionary measures for yellow—i.e., high risk—use cases.
