Courtesy of Wachtell Lipton, 120 investors issued a call to action last week to regulators worldwide to commit to adopt the ISSB general sustainability standards (IFRS S1) and climate standards (IFRS S2) by 2025. The statement notes the reduced reporting burden that would accompany consistent disclosure standards for companies that operate in multiple jurisdictions. Notably, among the principles recommended by the investor group is that disclosure requirements apply to both public and private companies and be proportionate to organization size in recognition of the reporting burdens.
