The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) released an overview of its ESG-related efforts and achievements attained through its members' filings of 399 shareholder proposals during the 2024 proxy season to date.

Key takeaways include:

  • Of the 229 proposals that went to a vote and for which results have been reported, 109 received more than 20% support, which warrant a board response pursuant to Glass Lewis’s Benchmark Policy Guidelines on company responsiveness.
  • 84 proposals (21% of those filed) resulted in agreements between the company and proponent, the majority of which focused on racial justice/DE&I and climate.

The overview includes a summary of negotiated proposal withdrawals and associated corporate commitments relating to climate change and other environmental issues, political spending/lobbying, human/worker rights, racial justice/DE&I, and more.
