The California Air Resources Board today issued a Solicitation, or a request for input, to inform its implementation of the state's climate disclosure laws SB 253 (emissions disclosure) and SB 261 (TCFD-type climate risk reporting), as amended by SB 219. Many of the areas of inquiry are on point with questions the Society recently raised with California lawmakers as needing to be affirmatively addressed either legislatively or via regulation to enable in-scope companies (to be further defined) to timely and cost-effectively comply with these new laws.
The comment deadline is February 14, 2025. The Society plans to comment. Members interested in participating in this important effort, please email Ted Allen or Randi Morrison by the close of business on December 31. We will plan a kick-off meeting soon after the New Year.
