On January 30, the Society submitted a letter to Mark Uyeda, acting chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission, that outlined a series of near-term policy suggestions for the Commission to consider over the next few months. The letter requested the creation of a Public Company Advisory Committee and included recommendations related to the shareholder proposal no-action process, proxy advisors, climate and human capital disclosure, perk disclosure related to executive security arrangements, and enforcement actions concerning internal controls/corporate data tracking. The letter was drafted with robust input from members of the Society’s Policy Advisory Committee.
